AVIONIC TECHNICIAN
Our Avionic Technicians operate under a certified Part 145 Repair Station in which each technician installs, tests, troubleshoots, and repairs helicopter electronic systems—such as communication, navigation, GPS, autopilot, and engine monitoring instruments—in compliance with FAA regulations. They utilize specialized test equipment to diagnose wiring or component issues, perform soldering, and document maintenance, ensuring aircraft airworthiness. Our capabilities range from Bell 206A/B and L series, Bell 407, OH58A/C, and UH1H helicopters.
Key Responsibilities

Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and repair malfunctioning avionics equipment, electrical components, and wiring systems using circuit testers, oscilloscopes, and voltmeters.

Installation: Install new or upgraded electronic systems, including radios, antennas, navigation systems, and cockpit displays.

Testing & Certification: Perform operational tests to ensure systems comply with manufacturer specifications and FAA guidelines before returning to service.

Documentation: Maintain precise, detailed records of all maintenance and repairs performed, often in a Part 145 repair station setting.

System Upgrades: Integrate complex components, such as flight control systems and mission equipment, into existing rotary-wing aircraft.
Required Qualifications & Skills

FAA Certification preferred: Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate or Repairman's Certificate

Experience: 3+ years of experience in aircraft electrical system maintenance.

Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems, soldering, wiring harness fabrication, and reading schematics.

Skills: High manual dexterity, meticulous attention to detail, and strong analytical problem-solving skills.

Ability to lift/move heavy equipment and parts.

Ability to work in confined areas, such as cramped helicopter cockpits.

Some weekend and overtime may be required
Common Equipment Used

Testing: Multimeters, Pitot-Static testers, COMM/NAV testers, and wire integrity testers.

Tools: Soldering irons, crimpers, and hand tools for disassembling aircraft components.
